The want I have for him is almost absolutely ridiculous!

That face sculpt is absolutely adorable from what I’ve seen so far, I dunno if could deal with the crazy neck though…

does he have a goose on his head

As a woman in this hobby, I wish there weren’t so many fat women in it too. I feel like it’s going to become a stereotype like girl gamers. Fat girls ruined being a gamer, I don’t want them to ruin dolls as well.

(via bjdsecrets)

I refuse to believe that the presence of fat girls “ruined” being a gamer unless your goal in being a gamer was to make guys like you because you were OMG A COOL GIRL who OMG LIKES GAMES. The presence or absence of fat people has absolutely no impact on games.

If fat people liking something you like “ruins” it for you, you are a shallow twit and may god have mercy on your soul.

Some photos of Rory. I’m considering getting some of the Dollheart fukubukuros this year.

Oh my gosh, she looks like a mini Souseiseki! You’re killing me! <3 <3

I’m going to fall into that trap where I’ll end up getting a Souseiseki just to be her family member! Volks, you are so diabolical! :,3

Or MSD F-21 — they all look related to me! Although F21 has a bit of Elena duck lip too.

…I’ve never had any issues at all with urethane or silicone eyes so if someone (OP?) could point me to examples of said splitting, scuffing and yellowing that would be awesome.
You know, I don’t get why people feel the need to post things like this on confession blogs, how about making an actually useful post with links and examples so people can make an informed choice instead of trying to scare them out of using something?

I lent a pair of Soom urethanes to a friend, who put them in a WS doll she keeps out of the sun, and when I got them back they were piss-yellow. Like I had a yellow pair and a gray pair, lent her the gray pair, and when she gave them back I though I’d lent her the yellow pair until I realized the whites were also incredibly yellow. The clear dome had yellowed so much it made the gray irises look yellow. I have NO IDEA how that happened, and it did not happen to the other pair I had.
That said, Masterpiece silicone eyes were known for shite quality control at one point. Not sure if this is still the case.
Urethane eyes will only scuff if you abuse them horribly. I’ve got easily a dozen pairs and none of them have any visible damage (despite me being both negligent and a klutz). I’ve noticed that my EDs that are over five years old are slightly yellower than brand new, but it’s only noticeable if you put them right next to each other outside a doll. The only urethane eyes I’ve had yellow noticeably were Droprops, and it was only really noticeable on one pair.
Combine that with the fact that glass eyes that look anywhere near as good as urethane cost at least 2x as much, and I’ll pass.
I rank this confession approximately 70% bullshit.

I find it generally happens with those are uninitiated to the BJD world, might not have much of an artists/photographers eye and with photos where you can’t really make out any joints, details are expected to be lacking (i.e. very high or low key) and with certain sculpts. (This is the shot I get a lot of those comments on and you can see what I mean about the expected lack of detail etc.)
I’ve taken a couple of photos of Finnian, one of my Ryus, that constantly gets “oh wow I thought this was a real person” comments both online and in person. The rest of the time it tends be because people are looking at thumbnails on dA so can’t make out the details enough to discern if it’s a person or a doll which is why they usually tag an “at first” on there.

One of those fashion photos you posted recently I actually thought was a doll and did a doubletake when I realized it was in with a bunch of photos of people?
IT CAN HAPPEN.
